2 - Newspaper series - water as a commodity

Reporters for The Morning Journal newspaper in Lorain, Ohio,
USA, are working on a series of stories about water and
the shift from water as a resource to a commodity.

Katie is looking at water around the world, including Iraq and
the effects of war, Africa and the scarcity of water,
desalination in the Middle East,and corporations around the

Crystal Chaikowsky announces the International Instrumented
Watershed Symposium (IIWS), a symposium focusing on the
challenges and logistics of instrumenting a watershed,

Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, June 22-25, 2004.

5 - ECOSUD 2005 - Cadiz, Spain

6 - CORMIX Training Workshop
---------------------------------------

Dr. Robert L. Doneker, one of the primary developers of
the CORMIX mixing zone model (http://www.cormix.info),
announces a workshop September 21-22 2004, at Portland,
Oregon, USA. The workshop will cover the basic theory of
mixing zone models, tips for advanced model application,
avoiding benthic impacts with proper outfall design,
and ways to schematize your data to extend model
application.
