The hydrological phenomena in a certain area do not take place in
a homogeneous way, especially in the case of the precipitation. To
verify the homogeneity in the area selected for this study, two methods
were used to conduct an analysis of daily precipitation: the Theory of
Continuous Parametric Fields and a Model of Regional Rainfall Analysis..
With the first, by means of the formulation of a spatial correlation structure,
it is possible to carry out interpolations in those series of data that
present data gaps, with good results. The complete series are obtained.
With the second, the occurrence of events and their importance in the contribution
of rains is analyzed, applying a distribution function that combines the
function of distribution of events in a given period and the function of
distribution of the total volume of rain during every period. The
area selected for application is the Bajos Submeridionales Santafesinos,
Santa Fe Province, Argentina.
